Leeds Castle

Set on 500 acres of beautiful parkland, Leeds Castle will be your first stop of your VIP UK Golf Tour.

You will be staying in the Keepers House, formerly the Gamekeeper’s cottage dating back several hundred years. Keepers House is located in a secluded position within the castle grounds overlooking the weir pond, rich in wildlife and waterfowl. The house is set back from the road with a long private drive and is comfortably furnished, making it

the ideal place to rest after a busy day of golf, sightseeing and banqueting.

Golfing at Leeds Castle is a special experience. This delightful nine hole, par 33, 2681 yard course was built on the 500 acre Leeds Castle Estate in 1924 for the Hon. Lady Baillie, the then owner of Leeds Castle.  Continued improvements to the course culminated in the creation of a brand new 143 yard, par 3 hole whose tee nestles beside the Leeds Castle moat with its abundance of waterfowl. The maturity of the parkland surrounding Leeds Castle provides both challenging and spectacular holes from start to finish.

Intervals of ten minutes between tee-off time, ensure that the course is rarely congested. The Pro Shop is fully stocked for all your golfing needs. There are also changing rooms with shower facilities and refreshments available in the clubhouse. Club & trolley hire are also available.

When not golfing, you will have the option of participating in a number of exciting activities in and around the castle including: hot air ballooning (right), clay pigeon shooting, country treks by foot or Segway, tours of the castle building and avaries or picnicking on the grounds around Keepers House.

Blackheath is the world’s oldest golf club having “opened” around 1608 when Scottish-born King James IV came south to assume the throne following the death of England’s Elizabeth I. By the 1800’s, the course was known

Today it is ranked among the 100 best courses to play in the world by Gold World Magazine (November 2005). 

 

This parkland course is as challenging as it is beautiful. These old grounds will test a good golfer with modern equipment in such a way that you will marvel at how those 300 years ago would have fared with their wooden clubs and drivers.

The Grove Golf & Spa Course

The seven historical courses of the Royal St Andrew’s Golf Club hardly need any introduction. Yet professionals like Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus continually reinforce their status by proclaiming them the finest courses in the world.

In fact, it is here where golf was born around AD1400 making it renowned throughout the world as the Home of Golf. Golf still plays a major part in the culture and economy of St Andrews today. Indeed, many local people, are players, caddies, ball makers and/or club makers.

London is one of the world’s greatest cities and will play host to several days of sightseeing, entertainment and nightlife during your visit to the UK. 

 

In addition to sightseeing on London’s famed Thames waterfront (featuring the Tower of London (second from bottom), Tower Bridge, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament (bottom), you will also have the chance to see Buckingham Palace (top), Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus. One evening you will also have the pleasure to dine in London’s Chinatown (second from top), and then visit one of the city’s many popular venues for a post-dinner drink.
